Just when you thought that the ATX multigyms could not get more comprehensive, they release this (circa 2018) – the OPTIMUS. You’ll have to read the description, below, to give you the full-breakdown, as it’s quite something!
The ATX OPTIMUS Multigym is the most-uncompromising multigym you will find and has the ATX finishing touches and functional design that they are well-known for. A typical multigym hesitation are “Are the weight stacks sufficient? Can I squat with it? Is the smith machine heavy-duty? Can I perform heavy lat pulldowns? Etc.” The answers are “yes, yes, yes, yes!”. The downside is that it therefore costs more and is bigger than some of our other multigyms; however, it’s still great value-for-money and no bigger than a power cage, just has a hell of a lot more 🙂

It may be easier to list what’s not on the ATX Optimus MultiGym. Okay, here goes what’s on the gym…
ATX’s monster Optimus Multigym consists of a number of professional-quality base stations in a single device:
- Dual Adjustable Pulley (DAP) with weight stacks and protective shrouds.
- Smith Machine.
- Half Rack for free weight training.
- A weight stack Lat Pulldown and Low Row machine.
- Foldable full-size Dip Bars.
- Olympic weights storage.
Product weight: 674kg. Delivered in a double crate by pallet delivery service (Palletways), unless installation is requested at an extra cost in the Drop Down menu.
The DAP features two 55kg stacks on a 1:1 ratio with 2.5kg increments. The Lat Pulldown/ Low Row has a 125kg stack on a 1:1 ratio with 5kg increments. So, between these, you have the best of fine-tuning to suit certain exercises and a heavy-stack where you need it – rows and pulldowns.
The smith machine and half rack are tested to heavy loads of 300kg and are certified as such to EN 20957 I.II.IV Class S. standard. The foldable dip bars are rated to 160kg.
With it’s open design, the ATX Optimus Multigym provides multiple heavy-duty stations that do not encroach on eachother, making it a comprehensive set up for any home, PT studio or hotel gym. The only slight compromise is the space, so hopefully you have enough room in your gym 🙂
