What’s the correct user weight of the Concept2 Indoor Rower?
**The User Weight is asterixed, as you’ll find conflicting information on the rowing machine, relating to either the “model D” indoor rower, or, the “RowErg” rowing machine. To be clear, they are the same machine, just a renaming by Concept2. Also, the user weight sometimes quotes 500 lb and sometimes 300 lb but appear to relate to the same Concept2 rowing machine. Why? The answer is simple, Concept2 have load-tested their rowing machine to 500 lb (227kg); however, in Europe, which complies to EN 20957-7 testing standards (or should! Many brands do not! Concept2 and ATX do!), it’s only been tested to 300 lb (135 kg). My guess is they considered it sufficient for 99% of users in Europe. I can confirm that we have strongmen in excess of 150kg in our gym (@thegym) who regularly use the Concept2 rowing machine; therefore, the Concept2 tested load of 500 lb (227kg) is the correct one.
